14 more Bangladeshi infiltrators arrested in Tripura ahead of Panchayat polls

In the last two months around 105 infiltrators have been arrested in the Agartala Railway Station.

Amid heightened security measures along the India-Bangladesh border in Tripura for the upcoming Panchayat elections, 14 more Bangladeshi nationals including a child were arrested in Tripura for illegally entering India.

Tapas Das, officer-in-charge of the Government Railway Police (GRP) station in Agartala, said that 7 Bangladeshi citizens, including 4 women and a child were arrested at the Agartala Railway Station on Thursday night before they could board a Guwahati-bound train.

In a separate incident, the Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended 3 Bangladeshi nationals and an Indian tout from Sabroom in southern Tripura.

All arrested Bangladeshis were produced in court today.
