Ten more persons, including an 8-year-old have tested positive for COVID-19 in Mizoram, taking the state’s total count to 140 on Saturday. The new cases (4 men and 6 women)
Ten more persons, including an 8-year-old have tested positive for COVID-19 in Mizoram, taking the state’s total count to 140 on Saturday.
The new cases (4 men and 6 women) were confirmed positive out of 954 samples processed at the Zoram Medical College (ZMC) lab.
Of the fresh cases, 4 are from Mamit district, 3 from Champhai, 2 from Serchhip and one from Khawzawl district, a report released by the state Information and Public Relations Department said.
All positive patients are returnees from other states. Among them, 7 had returned from Maharashtra and 3 are returnees from Delhi. The individuals are aged between 8 and 46.
Nine patients are asymptomatic and are under institutional quarantine while one with symptoms is an inpatient at dedicated COVID-19 Health Centre.
The state now has 131 active cases and 9 persons have recovered from the disease so far.
Mizoram had reported its first COVID-19 case on March 24, a 52-year-old pastor who had travelled to the Netherlands, he recovered on May 9.
