The concern for the residents is not just the non-availability of clean drinking water but also the fact that they might get infected and suffer from diseases like diarrhoea and other waterborne diseases
The district magistrate Debopriya Vardhan told the media that the authorities are looking into immediately resolving the issue of the villagers.
Despite having water pipelines in the area there are no provisions of pure drinking water for the residents.
The villagers claimed that this area has never received clean drinking water and people are forced to do with less than one litre of drinking water per day.
