India and China do not look eye-to-eye when it comes to diplomatic and political matters. But sports knows no boundaries. What a moment it was when Chinese players clapped and sang Happy Birthday for Indian shooter Sarabjot Singh who turned 21 today.
Chinese shooters celebrated Sarabjot Singh’s birthday after the nail-biting match between India and China, where the later secured a gold medal and India (Sarabjot is part of the team) won a silver medal on Saturday.
The birthday celebration came as a surprise for Sarabjot, as he was not expecting something like this after the defeat with China.
The Chinese team defeated India to clinch gold at the 10-meter air pistol mixed team event final between India and China at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou.
The birthday celebrations started with the DJ at the shooting arena in Hangzhou playing “Happy Birthday to You” for Sarabjot after the medals were awarded to China (gold), India (silver), South Korea, and Pakistan (bronze).
As the birthday song played, Chinese fans clapped and wished Sarabjot a happy birthday, putting a smile on Sarabjot’s face after the defeat.
