Sikkim Muay Thai fighters to battle it out at World Championships in Abu Dhabi

All four of them will be representing India at the World Muaythai Championship which will have the participation of about 100 countries in the 10-day long event.

In positive news from Sikkim, four Muaythai fighters from the state will represent India in the upcoming World Muay Thai Championship in Abu Dhabi from May 26 to June 4.

The fighters who are the members of Muaythai Association of Sikkim are – Sangam Rai from Tashiding, Dipen Rai from Jorethang, Kala Rai from Rinchenpong, and Sanchaman Limboo from Geyzing- Sakyong.

All four of them will be representing India at the World Muaythai Championship which will have the participation of about 100 countries in the 10-day long event.

Notably, the championship will be the first official qualifier for the World Combat Games 2023 in Riyadh with Gold medalists directly qualifying and other finalists gaining valuable qualification points in the rankings race for the Games.

The vibrant city of Abu Dhabi has welcomed the World Muaythai Community for the 2022 IFMA Senior World Championships which see the Under 23 and Elite divisions compete for podium positions at the pinnacle event for the world’s top athletes.
