Men In Blue defeat Zimbabwe by 71 runs

India will play England on Thurs in the 2nd semi-final in Adelaide. Meanwhile, New Zealand and Pakistan will lock horns in 1st SF on Wed.

Men in Blue has done it. Chasing a target of 187 runs Zimbabwe were bundled out for 115 runs as Team India has advanced to the semi-final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Suryakumar Yadav struck an unbeaten 61 off 25 and was adjudged Player of the match. KL Rahul too played an important knock of 51 runs in 35 balls. Both, Suryakumar and Rahul powered India to post a challenging total of 186 runs on the scoreboard.

Meanwhile, the Indian bowlers were clinical with their performance. Ravichandran Ashwin was the highest wicket taker as he scalped 3 wickets giving away just 22 runs in his 4 over spell. Mohammad Shami and Hardik Pandya also scalped 2 wickets each.

India, Pakistan, New Zealand and England are the four semi-finalists. New Zealand and Pakistan will lock horns with each other in the first semi-final in Sydney on Wednesday while the Men In Blue will play against England on Thursday in the second semi-final in Adelaide.

With this win, India finished have topped Group 2 with 8 points from 5 matches.
