Kohli’s IPL slump, Ganguly says ‘Don’t know what’s going on in his head’

With scores of 1, 12, 0, 0, and 9 in his last five innings, Kohli’s two back to back golden ducks have raised alarms.

India’s two most stalwart batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are going through the worst phase of their career as both of them have produced below-par performances in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 and it has affected their team’s balance as well.

With scores of 1, 12, 0, 0, and 9 in his last five innings, Kohli’s two back to back golden ducks have raised alarms.

Meanwhile, BCCI president Saurav Ganguly, who has a bit of recent history with Kohli conceded that he doesn’t have the foggiest idea of what is turning out badly for the former Indian captain.

Ganguly said, “I don’t know what is going on in Virat Kohli’s head but I am sure he will regain his form and get some good runs. He is a great player.”

Both Kohli and Rohit have not had the best of IPLs this season. While the former Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper has scored 128 runs in nine matches, the Mumbai Indians captains scored 153 runs in eight matches.

Speaking about the performance of the two new franchises, Ganguly said, “Oh, it’s very interesting, I am watching (the IPL). Any team can win and everyone is playing well. The two new teams – Gujrat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants – are doing well.”
