The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will kick off today with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) taking on each other.

The match will take place in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium and will start at 7:30 p.m. IST.

Both CSK and KKR will be led by new captains in the form of Ravindra Jadeja and Shreyas Iyer respectively.

Ahead of IPL 2022 auction, KKR had retained Andre Russell, Venkatesh Iyer, Sunil Narine, and Varun Chakravarthy.

The team bought players like Shivam Mavi, Pat Cummins, Nitish Rana, Mohammad Nabi, Shreyas Iyer and Sam Billing during the auction.

CSK had retained MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali, and Ruturaj Gaikwad in the team.

During the auction, they bought players like Dwayne Bravo, Deepak Chahar, Adam Milne, Dwaine Pretorius, Ambati Rayudu, Shivam Dube among others.
