Star pace bowler of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Deepak Chahar was ruled out of the action in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) after he suffered a quadriceps hamstring injury

Star pace bowler of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Deepak Chahar was ruled out of the action in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) after he suffered a quadriceps hamstring injury in the third T20I against the West Indies in February.

Reportedly, the India and CSK bowler also suffered back injury during his rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.

The 29-year-old, who was roped in for Rs 14 crore in the mega auction, went on to miss the ensuing series against Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, CSK entered the tournament without their strike bowler and had lost all their four matches so far in the 10-team competition and are placed at the bottom of the points table.

Chahar is an Indian International cricketer who hails from Agra, Uttar Pradesh. He became the first Indian male cricketer to take a hat-trick in a Twenty20 International (T20I) match.

In January 2020, Chahar was awarded the T20I Performance of the Year by the International Cricket Council (ICC), after taking six wickets for seven runs against Bangladesh.
