Boost to cricket in Assam: Delhi Capitals inks MoU with Guwahati based sports academy

Icon Sports Academy is the only indoor training facility in the city with five training pitches
Good news for cricket enthusiasts in Assam. The Icon Sports Academy, Guwahati, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Premier League side Delhi Capitals.
As per the MoU, Delhi Capital Coaches will train the students of Icon Sports Academy.
Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Pointing, Director Sourav Ganguly, and officials of Icon Sports Academy were present at the memorandum signing ceremony in Guwahati.
Delhi Capitals’ director of cricket, Sourav Ganguly, addressing the young players, said, “Whether it’s football, boxing, sprinting, heavyweight boxing, or lightweight boxing, this part of India (the Northeast) has produced tremendous athletes. I’m sure with Delhi capitals opening up their academy; it will give the many young boys and girls in Guwahati an opportunity to train.”
The Academy is the only indoor training facility in the city with five training pitches. The academy also has a full-size ground with 70-metre boundaries and five centre pitches.
