The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced the annual player contracts for India’s senior men team for the 2022/23 season. All-rounder Ravindra Jadej has been promoted to the A+ category, while KL Rahul has been demoted to Grade B.

Other inclusions in the A+ category are India skipper Rohit Sharma, former captain Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah, who has been injured since July 2022. The players in the A+ category will earn Rs 7 crore.
Hardik Pandya, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel were included in Grade A. These players will earn Rs 5 crore between October 2022 and September 2023.
Cheteshwar Pujara, K L Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Siraj, Suryakumar Yadav and Shubhman Gill are part of Grade B. Rahul has been demoted while Shubman was given a contract promotion by the BCCI. These players are set to earn Rs 3 crore.
Umesh Yadav, Shikhar Dhawan, Shardul Thakur, Ishan Kishan, Deepak Hooda, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar, Sanju Samson, Arshdeep Singh and KS Bharat are part of the Grade C contract, and will earn Rs 1 crore.
It was the end of the road for Ishant Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane, who have not been included in BCCI’s list for annual contracts. Rahane and Ishant were given Grade B contracts last season.
The likes of Wriddhiman Saha, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hanuma Vihari, Mayank Agarwal, and Deepak Chahar were also removed from BCCI’s annual contracts list, after being given Grade C contracts last season.
