Encouraging teenagers to take up football being and physical exercise in a bid to steer them away from drugs, an under-15 futsal tournament was organised by Fittest Bhalukpong (FB) at Bhalukpong in West Kameng district in Arunachal Pradesh which concluded on Monday.

The tournament started on April 5, 2022, with 12 teams participating in it. The objective of the tournament was to engage the students in physical activities during this summer breakthrough rigorous football coaching for two months.

Speaking at the valedictory ceremony, assistant commandant, B/138 BN Bikram Kumar Tiwari urged the young sportspersons to refrain from drugs. He also handed two footballs to Fittest Bhalukpong.

Meanwhile, Lama Sidisow, Chairman of Mountain Terrain Bike (MTB) Bhalukpong said, “Young players need to show sportsmanship”. He added “there are career scopes and opportunities for them”.

Govt Middle School, Bhalukpong emerged as the champion of the tournament, while Sajolang United came as runners-up.

Earlier, the chairman of FB Sanjiv Sagro elaborating on the objective of the tournament said, “The motive of the tournament was to engage the students in physical activities this summer.

It is to be mentioned that after rigorous football coaching for two months, 22 players have been selected for free coaching for one month from April 20.
