The Trinamool Congress has announced its state committee in Tripura. While Subal Bhowmick has made named as the president of the TMC’s Tripura’s unit, Rajib Banerjee has been named as the state in-charge for TMC’s Tripura unit.

A six member core committee has also been formed for TMC’s Tripura unit.

Apart from Subal Bhowmick, the core committee includes former Assam Congress leader Sushmita, ex-BJP MLA Ashish Das, Bhriguram Reang, Ashish Lal Singh and Mamon Khan.

Apart from the core committee, a total of eight vice-presidents have been named for TMC’s Tripura unit.

While five general secretaries have been named, a total of 14 party secretaries have been named. Meanwhile, the TMC’s Tripura state committee also consists of seven joint secretaries and a total of 72 executive members.

On the other hand, Santanu Saha has been appointed as the president of the party’s Tripura youth front, while Panna Deb has been named as the head of the party’s Tripura women’s front.

Apart from them, Sanjoy Kumar Das has been named as the state president for the Scheduled Caste cell and Malin Jamatia is the party’s state president for the Scheduled Tribe cell.

The All India Trinamool Congress has been trying to make inroads into Tripura for some time now bringing it to a direct confrontation with the ruling BJP which at times have led to violence. In fact the last urban local body polls Trinamool had indulged in hectic politicking. Although the state witnessed a saffron sweep it was able to grab a healthy vote percentage across Tripura.
