Looks the Congress is facing a hard time coming to terms to the resignation of former party president and ex-Rajya Sabha MP Ripun Bora.
The veteran members of the party have expressed their displeasure over the shocking move made by Ripun Bora yesterday.
CLP leader Debabrata Saikia has come down heavily on Bora and said that instead of helping the party which is in a critical juncture, the former APCC chief has shown his “selfish nature” for his personal interests.

Saikia added that it was the Congress that helped Bora shape his political career and it was only unfair on his part to leave the party, particularly at a time when it needs veteran leaders to stay united.
It may be recalled that moments after news of Ripun Bora’s resignation surfaced, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee President Bhupen Borah while speaking exclusively to Northeast Live admitted that more leaders are set to desert the Congress.
Ripun Bora, In his resignation letter addressed to AICC president Sonia Gandhi, cited infighting within the Assam Congress as the primary reason for his desertion.
Not only this, Ripun Bora blamed party leaders for his defeat in the Rajya Sabha polls and even accused a section of Assam Pradesh Congress leaders of maintaining a secret understanding with the BJP government, mainly the Chief Minister.
