The Communist Party of India (Marxist) or CPI (M) in Tripura has alleged that the goons of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have attacked party supporters and resorted to vandalism across the state since March 10 following BJP’s landslide victory in four states in Assembly elections.
CPI (M) state secretary and former MP Jitendra Chowdhury, during a press conference on Friday evening at its party headquarters in Agartala, alleged that BJP supporters resorted to large scale arson and violence besides setting ablaze party offices and houses of the supporters.

He further stated that despite all these incidents no one has been arrested so far.
Assembly elections were held in five states — Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Goa in February-March.
The BJP has won and kept power in four states– Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Goa, according to the results announced on March 10.
