Khayerpur is an Assembly constituency in Tripura. In 2018, BJP candidate Ratan Chakraborty won the seat by defeating CPI(M) candidate Pabitra Kar
Khayerpur is one of the 60 Legislative Assembly constituencies of Tripura. It is in West Tripura district and a part of Tripura West (Lok Sabha constituency). Khayerpur is a locality in Agartala city. Communist Party Of India (Marxist), Congress are the major political parties in this area.There are 47,729 voters in the constituency of which 45,011 voters voted in the last election.
BJP candidate Ratan Chakraborty is the sitting MLA of the constituency. Ratan Chakraborty won Khayerpur seat by a 7,039 margin against Former Deputy speaker of Tripura Legislative Assembly and CPI(M) candidate Pabitra Kar in the 2018 Assembly elections. The seat was occupied by CPI (M) leader Pabitra Kar long time till 2018 elections. Pabitra Kar occupied the seat since 1993 Assembly elections. This election will se tough fight between incumbent MLA Ratan Chakraborty and CPI(M) leader Pabitra Kar.
