Agartala is an assembly constituency in Tripura. In 2022, this constituency was won by the Indian National Congress (INC). In 2022, Sudip Roy Barman of the Indian National Congress won the seat by defeating Ashok Sinha of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with a margin of 3,163 votes.
Agartala Assembly constituency falls under the Tripura West Lok sabha constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Pratima Bhoumik won from Tripura West Lok Sabha (MP) Seat with the margin of 305689 votes by defeating Subal Bhowmik of the Indian National Congress.
Agartala is the capital and the largest city of the Indian state of Tripura, situated on the banks of Hoara River, about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) east of the border with Bangladesh[6] and about 2,499 km (1,52 mi) from the National Capital New Delhi
