The BJP has nominated Alexander Laloo (AL) Hek, a five-time MLA who has represented the Pynthorumkhrah constituency for the past 25 years, to run for the seat the sixth time. It will be an interesting battle to watch as despite being a strong contender, Hek might face some competition from his nephew, Rocky Hek, who is running for the Pynthorumkhrah seat as a candidate for the NPP. Additionally, the Congress’ Pynshngainlang Syiem and TMC’s Raymond Basaiawmoit are also vying for the seat in the upcoming election. Hek served as the Health Minister in the Conard Sangma government.
