Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma is a confident man especially when the outcome of today’s voting for the assembly election is concerned.

After casting his vote, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma while exuding confidence said,”Yes, in fact we are getting good response from everywhere, we are seeing that people are coming out in large numbers to vote. Even in South Tura constituency we have not seen this kind of turnout in the past; so it is a good sign, it’s good for democracy. And, we are happy to see that people are coming out and casting their vote in this election.”

When asked about the response of the voters, Conrad Sangma said,”Well, I have already mentioned to You earlier that it’s positive and we definitely are very confident that it (verdict) will be in our favour.”
Asked about his response, if his party will align with any other political party after the poll results, Chief Minister Sangma said,”We will see when the time comes. Abhi toh Samay hai (There is still time), voting khatam ho jaane do pehle aur result aane dijiye, fir uske baad dekhte hai (let the voting finish first and let the results be out, after that we will see).”

Conrad Sangma was also asked, “Do You think that PM’s campaign will make an impact?”

In this response, Conrad Sangma said,”Dekhiye PM Ji, PM Ji hai. Toh obviously Prime Minister aayenge toh log unko dekhne aayenge, unko sunne aayenge, lekin aant mein jo grassroot or constituency level pe jo unlog ka issues hai woh alag hadi aur uske liye alag tarah ke system aur obviously political mechanisms hai. Toh uske hisaap se jaise jo PM Sahab ko dekhne log aayenge, uska matlaab aisa nahi hai ki har ek jo aadmi dekhne aaya hai, unka attendance vote mein convert hoga.”
