MDA 2.0 in Meghalaya: BJP-NPP all set to form govt again in the hill state

Conrad Sangma speaks to HM Amit Shah seeking support in forming new government
It is now almost final that the BJP and NPP will be jointly forming the government in Meghalaya one more time. This was informed by none other than NEDA convenor and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma through his tweets and comments on Twitter.
CM Sarma informed that BJP national president JP Nadda has advised the Meghalaya BJP to extend it’s support to the NPP in terms of forming the next government.
CM Sarma, BJP’s top strategist for Northeast, in his tweet tagging NPP national president and incumbent Meghalaya Chief Minister said, “Adaraniya Sri @JPNadda ji , the national president of the @BJP4India has advised the state unit of BJP, Meghalaya to support the National people’s Party in forming the next government in Meghalaya. @SangmaConrad”
Prior to this, Himanta Biswa Sarma in another tweet had mentioned,”Sri @SangmaConrad, Chief Minister of Meghalaya, called @AmitShah ji, Hon’ble Home Minister, and sought his support and blessings in forming the new Government.”
Meanwhile, Himanta Biswa Sarma also expressed his gratituted to the BJP central leadership including Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the outcome of the poll battle in Tripura and Nagaland. In this context, Sarma said,”BJP’s win in Tripura & Nagaland is an affirmation of North East’s continued resolve to prosper on the path paved by vision of Hon PM @narendramodi Ji. The future is glorious & safe. Much gratitude to @JPNadda Ji for his continued guidance.”
It may be mentioned that the BJP has won 2 seats in this election. The victorious candidates include:
Alexander Laloo Hek who won from the Pynthorumkhrah seat by defeating PN Syiem of the Congress by 2538 votes.
The other BJP candidate who emerged victorious is Sanbor Shullai from the South Shillong constituency by defeating his nearest rival Danny Langstieh of the Voice of the Peoples Party by a huge margin of 11609 votes.
NPP won 26 seats up from 20 in 2018.
