BJP national president JP Nadda released the poll manifesto today in the presence of Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Barma and other senior BJP leaders.
Releasing the manifesto, Nadda promised 13 lakh Ayushman Bharat cards, students to get scooties, Rs 5,000 financial aid to Adivasi families. Rs 3000 per month financial support to landless farmers. Under the Balika Samridhi Yojana, every girl child in backward families to get support. Two free LPG gas cylinders to BPL families.
BJP is contesting all the 60 Assembly seats with its ally IPFT.
In 2018, BJP won 35 seats and its ally IFT won 8 emerging as the majority alliance and putting an end to the 25-year old reign of the Left parties.
Over the past few days, BJP top guns – Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and Nadda have addressed over over 30 rallies in the state that goes to polls on February 16.
On February 8, Tripura saw as many as 8 BJP rallies in one single day. Defence Minister Singh attended 2 rallies, UP CM Adityanath and Assam CM Sarma attended three rallies each.
The Defence Minister attended a total of 4 rallies in two days while the UP CM attended 5 rallies in two days.
Actor-turned politician Mithun Chakraborty, actress-turned-politician and Lok Sabha MP Locket Chatterjee also attended rallies in Tripura as they tried to woo voters for BJP and its ally IPFT. BJP’s list of 40 star campaigners include Yuva Morcha President Tejashwi Surya, Hema Malini and Manoj Tiwari.
