Meghalaya BJP has filed an FIR with the police against miscreants who are allegedly circulating fake social media posts against the party.
According to inputs, a post in the name of Meghalaya BJP was going viral, in which it was written that BJP opposes Valentine’s Day and people have been urged not to celebrate Valentine’s time, otherwise they will have to face the consequences.
Briefing newspersons, Meghalaya BJP president Ernest Mawrie said BJP is not against Valentines Day celebrations and the party has not issued any such post or appeal. He in fact alleged that NPP could be behind the posts.
Mawrie said,”So after we have got several complaints from the citizens of Meghalaya regarding we are opposing the Valentines Day. That is totally wrong. May be some parties with vested interests have circulated this letter. I want to clearly make a statement that this letter has been circulated from the NPP because they now know that we are going to win the election and we will win with a majority. So they dont have any agenda that is why they are circulating this letter.”
The Meghalaya BJP president added, “First of all it is a fake letter, secondly Arun Singh is not a secretary but the general secretary of the party. I have verified this it is a fake signature and thirdly our party office address is not Khyndailad Police Bazaar, and this mail IDs are wrongly quoted. We have our own official mail ID which we are using till today.”
