The year 2022 was indeed a roller-coaster ride for people across the world. That’s why on December 31, everyone turned up the level of celebration several notches up to bid goodbye to the year and welcome 2023 with a fresh note of positivity. And what better way to do that than have some delicious food? Food delivery apps saw a huge surge in orders on New Year’s Eve and Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal shared several tweets where he took up the role of a delivery agent for the day, reported India Today report.
Goyal took to Twitter to share a picture of himself delivering an order at the Zomato headquarters. “My first delivery brought me back to the zomato office. Lolwut!,” read the caption. He even changed his bio to ‘delivery by @zomato and @letsblinkit’.
He was seen wearing a red hoodie with the brand’s logo and carrying some packets of food.
Take a look:
And that’s not all. Goyal shared his experience of delivering food to customers in more tweets. “Back in office. Delivered 4 orders; one of them to an elderly couple celebrating NYE with their grandchildren,” he wrote.
Goyal also gave an estimate of the orders received on the app. “Fun fact: orders delivered today >> sum of all orders delivered in the first 3 years of our food delivery service,” read the tweet.
In the end, he thanked all the customers and employees and wished everyone a Happy New Year.
A sweet gesture, don’t you think?
