Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, who is known for being outspoken against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, is under fire after she was heard using abusive language inside the Parliament.

In a video, now viral on social media, she can be heard using the word ‘hara*i’ while another lawmaker, Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu of the Telugu Desham Party (TDP) was speaking. Mahua Moitra also went on a rant on the floor of the House during the ongoing Budget Session.

Mahua Moitra used unparliamentary language for BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri. Following this, BJP MPs demanded her to apologise. She later apologised for her comment.

Hema Malini slams Mahua Moitra

Reacting to the same, BJP MP and actress Hema Malini said that such words should not be used inside the Parliament and advised that they should control their tongue.

“They should control their tongue and not get over-excited and emotional. Each and every member of Parliament is a respectable person,” Hema Malini said.

“Nothing will be going on record. Some very harsh and offensive words have been used. I would ask the Parliamentary Affairs Minister to talk to the party (TMC),” Bhartruhari Mahtab, standing in for Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, said.

Mahua Moitra went on an aggressive rant against BJP over Hindenburg report on Gautam Adani’s companies. She asked the Central government to order full and thorough investigation into all matters. Our country’s reputation and the systemic stability of our markets are at risk, she said. Don’t worry about infrastructure assets, we are world class Indian companies who can easily take over their businesses and can be kept in check by our regulators, Moitra added.
