Mohali attack: Punjab Police arrests one accused

The detained individual has been identified as Nishan Singh, a resident of Tarn Taran who is currently being interrogated.

In the probe into the attack on Punjab Police’s intelligence unit headquarters in Mohali, Punjab Police has arrested one person involved in the attack.

The detained individual has been identified as Nishan Singh, a resident of Tarn Taran who is currently being interrogated.

Singh has allegedly sheltered two other accused in Amritsar for three days before the RPG attack on the Punjab Police’s intelligence unit headquarters in Mohali.

Notably, Nishan Singh already faces five cases including dacoity and under the Arms Act in Faridkot and Tarn Taran.

It may be mentioned here that earlier on Monday night, a rocket-propelled grenade or RPG was fired at the Intelligence Wing headquarters of the Punjab Police in Mohali.

This triggered a blast that shattered windows and caused a portion of the false ceiling to collapse on impact.

However, no injuries or casualties were reported as a result of the attack. The investigators recovered a Russian-made RPG, identified as RPG 22 from the site of the attack.

Meanwhile, Punjab police had already arrested some ‘Khalistani’ suspects for receiving massive and continuous drone deliveries of explosives, weapons, and drugs from across the border.
