Khalistani flag flown at Himachal Assembly Gate: Case registered

Kangra Police have informed that the installation of flags might have happened late at night or early morning today.

In a shocking incident reported from Himachal Pradesh, the flags of the separatist Khalistani movement were found tied at the boundary wall and gate of the state’s Legislative Assembly in Dharamshala.

The incident of the installation of flags of a separatist organization at the Himachal Pradesh’s seat of power has sparked a new row all over the country.

While nothing conclusive is known about who and when did install those flags, Police have suspected the act to be carried out by some tourists from Punjab for which they are registering a case.

Kangra Police have informed that the installation of flags might have happened late at night or early morning today.

The winter session of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly is held in Dharamsala for which the entire government, including the Chief Minister, moves there from Shimla every year.

It may be mentioned here that separatist Khalistani elements claim parts of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, which formed part of Greater Punjab till 1966, as part of ‘Khalistan’.

The Khalistani movement which has been supported actively by the ISI-backed separatists over the years targets to ‘liberate’ Himachal Pradesh and Haryana and ‘merge’ into ‘Khalistan’.
