The nation remembers India’s great freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose more commonly known by the title ‘Netaji’, on his 78th death anniversary today.

The nation salutes his courage and struggle and paid homage to the brave freedom fighter who made ultimate sacrifice to protect the sovereignty and integrity of the nation.

Born on January 23, 1897 in Cuttack, Odisha, Bose had founded the Azad Hind Fauj, also called Indian National Army (INA) which attacked the British from the eastern side of the then-undivided India.

Subhas Chandra Bose is believed to have died in a plane crash in Taiwan on August 18, 1945.
