“I have to punish you”: PM Modi to MPs. And this is what happened next

At around 2:30 pm, a group of select MPs got a call that the Prime Minister wanted to meet them. The PM told them, “Chaliye, aapko ek punishment dena hai (Let’s go. I have to punish you).”

And here is what happened next. The select group of MPs including S.Phangnon Konyak, the BJP Rajya Sabha MP from Nagaland, Ram Mohan Naidu from TDP, Ritesh Pandey from BSP, BJP’s Ladakh MP Jamyang Namgyal, Union Minister L Murugun, Sasmit Patra of BJD, and BJP’s Maharashtra MP Heena Gavit started walking with the PM.

Few steps later the lift opened and they were taken to the canteen and to their utter surprise, they were treated to a sumptuous lunch!

The vegetarian spread included Rice, daal, khichdi, til ka laddoo. The PM said that his favourite is khichdi.
During the casual conversation, PM Modi, “I’m not always in PM mode. I just wanted to have good food.”

The PM later shared pictures from the lunch and tweeted, “Enjoyed a sumptuous lunch, made even better thanks to the company of Parliamentary colleagues from various parties and different parts of India.”

During the 45-minute lunch, the MPs took the chance to have a free-wheeling conversation with the PM and asked him about his lifestyle, when he wakes up, and how he manages such a packed schedule.

The Prime Minister also spoke about the Abu Dhabi temple, for which he laid the foundation stone in 2018 and which he is set to visit next week. It is the first Hindu temple project in Abu Dhabi, the PM said.
