Delhi-Doha IndiGo flight lands at Karachi Airport after medical emergency, passenger declared dead

A Doha-bound IndiGo flight from Delhi was diverted to Karachi following a medical emergency onboard the aircraft. The passenger was declared dead after the flight landed

Though a Delhi-Doha IndiGo flight made an emergency landing at Pakistan’s Karachi airport to ensure medical assistance for a sick passenger onboard, the traveller was declared brought-dead upon arrival by the airport medical team, an airline official told news agency ANI.

According to sources, the Doha-bound flight took off from Delhi at 10.17 pm Sunday night, reported India Today.

The airline said IndiGo flight 6E-1736, operating from Delhi to Doha, was diverted to the Jinnah International Airport in Pakistan’s Karachi due to a medical emergency on board.

“Unfortunately, on arrival, the passenger was declared dead by the airport medical team,” the airline added.

In a statement, the airline said it was making arrangements for transferring the other passengers on the flight in coordination with the relevant authorities.

“We are deeply saddened by the news and our prayers and wishes are with his family and loved ones,” it added.
