In a horrific incident, a 13-year-old girl, who was allegedly gang-raped by 80 men for over eight months, was rescued by police in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday.
Reportedly, the victim was forced into prostitution by a woman named Sawarna Kumari, who adopted the girl from a hospital after her mother died due to COVID-19. The minor was taken away by Kumari without her father’s knowledge.
Earlier in August 2021, the father filed a missing complaint regarding the incident after which an investigation was initiated by the police.
When police identified the main accused, Swarna Kumari, they discovered the harrowing and shocking reality of the minor’s situation.
According to the revealed information, the 13-year-old girl had been sent to different brothel houses in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to be used in the flesh trade business, for the past eight months.
Police officials informed that they have identified 80 accused and had begun arresting them. Of those, some are kingpins, 35 are pimps and the rest are customers.
On Tuesday police arrested 10 men, including a B Tech student, and now they are looking out for more accused who are on the run.
Meanwhile, police have also seized one car, 53 cell phones three autos, and bikes from the accused in this case. The culprits were arrested from Vijaywada, Hyderabad, Kakinada, and Nellore.
