Passenger lands plane after pilot falls unconscious in Florida

What can be termed the worst fears of a passenger on a flight came to be in the skies of USA. A passenger with no flying experience radioed an urgent plea for help with the pilot of a small plane that suddenly fell ill off Florida’s Atlantic coast.

However, the passenger was able to land the plane safely with the help of air traffic controllers.

The pilot of a Cessna light aircraft fell unconscious mid-air and a passenger had to take control of the plane.

The plane had taken off from Leonard M. Thompson International Airport in Marsh Harbor, the Bahamas, and was headed to Florida on Tuesday afternoon.

Following the successful landing, a Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson said they were investigating the incident.
