Billionaires Mukesh Ambani, Anand Mahindra hail Uber in Washington, clicks selfie with NASA astronaut Sunita Williams

Can you image a billionaire hailing an Uber to reach their destination or taking a selfie on the street like everyone else? Well, the richest man of India Mukesh Ambani and the Mahindra Group Chairman, Anand Mahindra did just that to reach their destination in Washington DC. They also had a selfie moment on the streets of Washington, DC as they clicked a selfie with astronaut Sunita Williams and 3rdiTech co-founder Vrinda Kapoor whom they bumped into.

The two billionaire were in Washington DC, to attend the lavish State Dinner hosted by US President Joe Biden in honour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 22.

After the State Dinner, the tycoons joined the likes of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Apple CEO Tim Cook in the East Room of the White House on Friday for an India-US Hi-Tech Handshake meeting.

After the Hi-Tech Handshake meeting, they were supposed to go to their next lunch engagement by a group shuttle bus. But as they were busy talking to US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo and Kapoor, they missed the group shuttle bus that was supposed to take them to the lunch engagement.

After they missed their shuttle, they were trying to reach out for an Uber ride. Then they bumped into National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) astronaut Sunita Williams and 3rdiTech co-founder Vrinda Kapoor.

While waiting for their cab, the tycoons clicked a selfie with Sunita Williams and Vrinda Kapoor.

Posting the selfie on Twitter, Mahindra called it his “Washington moment.”

‘I suppose this was what they would call a ‘Washington moment.’ After the tech handshake meeting yesterday, Mukesh Ambani, Vrinda Kapoor & I were continuing a conversation with the Secretary of Commerce & missed the group shuttle bus to the next lunch engagement. We were trying to call an Uber when we ran into NASA astronaut Sunita Williams
@Astro_Suni Time for a selfie & we also asked if we could hitch a ride on her space shuttle instead of an Uber…,” tweeted Anand Mahindra.

Uber responded to the tweet and said, “We can still drop you to the space station. After all, behind every flight, there’s a great run-up!”
