International Organ Racket Busted In Delhi, 7 Including Doctor Arrested

In a significant crackdown against an international organ transplant racket, Delhi Police have apprehended seven individuals, including a doctor, allegedly involved in the racket.
News agency ANI reported, quoting Amit Goel, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, that the mastermind behind this operation was identified as a Bangladeshi national.
Elaborating on the modus operandi, DCP Goel informed that both the donor and receiver involved in these transactions were from Bangladesh.
“We have arrested a person named Russell, who used to arrange patients and donors, and a female doctor involved in the transplant has also been arrested,” Goel informed.
The police further revealed that the racketeers had established connections in Bangladesh and charged exorbitant fees ranging from Rs 25 to 30 lakhs for each transplant. The racket has been ongoing since 2019.
