Assam: 1 DNLA cadre killed, 3 injured in police encounter in Dima Hasao

One cadre of the banned militant outfit-Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA) was killed, while three others were injured in a police encounter in Assam's Dima Hasao district on Thursday midnight.

Tension runs high in the state’s Longding town after a section of people pelted stones at security forces during the scrutiny of nomination papers. Longding SP Dekio Gumja received injuries in the incident prompting security personnel to resort to blank firing.
