War on drugs: Tripura Police busts drugs cartel in Agartala; arms and ammunition recovered, 4 arrested

The police learnt about the movement of kingpin Bibanta Debbarma and carried out raids near the Town Hall
In a big breakthrough, the Tripura Police busted a drugs cartel in capital city Agartala and apprhended 4 persons involved in the illegal trade of narcotics.
Acting on specific inputs, the police carried out multiple simultaneous raids near the Town Hall, in search of kingpin Bibanta Debbarma. The police then successfully managed to arrest Bibanta and 3 other accomplices identified as Raju Saha, Jayanta Debnath and Rabindra Debbarma.
Kiran Kumar, Superintendent of Police (SP) for West Tripura informed eight packets of heroin, a 9mm pistol, 30 live ammunition rounds, nine mobile phones, a card swiping machine, and Rs. 13,000 in cash were recovered from the drug dealers. A SUV and 3 motorcycles were also seized from their possession.
Further interrogation of the arrested individuals are going for accessing crucial leads to unearth the drugs nexus.
