The new Tripura Fire And Emergency Services Act, 2022 has been adopted on the directives of the union government.

Based on the directives, one percent of the population will be trained and kept prepared for the maintenance of various disasters including fire through massive awareness and training activities.

During the press conference, it was also briefed that the earlier Act which was not amended for long had loopholes in so far as safety necessities at houses, markets, industries, etc from fire disasters were concerned.

But this new act has been adopted keeping in view overcoming these issues and also serving the citizens better through a transparent time-bound service.

The officials informed that as per the provisions of the new law, all applications for No Objection Certificates necessary for the construction of a new house, flat, multi-story building, or business house have to be done via the internet.

Unlike the earlier system, the applicant will not be required to visit the concerned office for any verification.

Moreover, to set accountability among the concerned department officials as per the new law within 28 days the fire NOC has to be issued or stern action shall be taken if the officer fails to give justification for not issuing the permit.
