Tripura: Seven 33 KV sub-stations inaugurated for uninterrupted power supply

Dev Varma, who is also the Power Minister of the state during a program at Bamutia in West Tripura district also physically inaugurated one of the seven sub-stations.

To provide quality uninterrupted power to the consumers even in the remotest part of Tripura on Friday seven 33 KV sub-stations were digitally inaugurated by the state’s Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma.

Dev Varma, who is also the Power Minister of the state during a program at Bamutia in West Tripura district also physically inaugurated one of the seven sub-stations.

The total project cost is Rs 28.93 crore which shall benefit 31,914 consumers and it has come up with funding from the government of India and the World Bank under the North Eastern Regional Power System Improvement Project.

Speaking to the media persons, the minister informed that the government is committed to improve the power scenario in the state, and only during the last one-year time period a total of 43 new sub-stations have been inaugurated across the state, and more are in the pipeline.

Local MLA Krishnadhan Das, Secretary Power department Brijesh Pandey, MD Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited Debasish Sarkar, and other dignitaries were also present in the inauguration program.
