Tripura Polls 2023: ‘Surprisingly, IPFT not taking calls…waiting since 11am’: TIPRA chief Pradyot

Is TIPRA Motha still looking for a partner to fight the upcoming polls? Is TIPRA Motha chief Pradyot Deb Barma still waiting to hear from IPFT?
Is TIPRA Motha still looking for a partner to go polls? Well that is how it looks if one goes by the recent tweet posted by the Tripura regional party’s tweet where he said, “All the IPFT leaders are surprisingly not picking up their calls! Been waiting to hear from them since 11 am! Looks like Operation lotus is on!”
This indeed is a significant statement from the TIPRA Motha chief who had yesterday ruled out any alliance with any party unless the party gave a written assurance regarding TIPRA’s demand for Greater Tipraland.
The royal scion had earlier offered his hand of friendship to IPFT and written a letter citing reasons why they should align ahead of the assembly polls. IPFT is an ally of the BJP in Tripura.
Yesterday, Pradyot Deb Barma had posted a video on social media and said that he had decided to turn down New Delhi’s offer as there was no written assurance from the Government of India about a constitutional solution to TIPRA Motha’s demand for a Greater Tipraland.
“No alliance – – my heart does not agree and so I have made my decision that I cannot accept New Delhi’s offer!… I can’t betray our cause and our people!”, the TIPRA Motha chief had said in a strong and confident sounding message posted on his social media platforms yesterday.
The TIPRA Motha has said that the party would contest 40-45 of the 60 seats for the Assembly elections to be held on February 16.
