Tripura: Locals attack doctor, vandalise hospital after 2 children die of Malaria
Earlier on Wednesday, two children from Rajdhar Kacharichhara area under Dhalai district, died of malaria fever at the Manikpur Hospital.
Following the death of two children at a hospital in Tripura’s Dhalai area, the relatives and kin of the deceased reportedly attacked the on-duty doctor and also vandalised the properties in the hospital.
Meanwhile, a huge police force has been deployed at the hospital after the incident was reported.
Earlier on Wednesday, two children from Rajdhar Kacharichhara area under Dhalai district, died of malaria fever at the Manikpur Hospital.
The deceaseds have been identified as 8-year-old Dharmita Tripura and 4-year-old Dhananjay from Tripura.
People in the area vandalized the hospital and attacked the on-duty doctor Pranab Devvarma, seriously injuring the doctor.
Meanwhile, Chief Medical Officer Dr Apollo Kolai informed that a case will be filed with the police on behalf of the health department.
He also added appropriate punishment will be meted out by identifying the culprits involved in the destruction of government property and the deadly attack on a doctor.
