Tripura: Days after NIA crackdown, 14 Bangladeshi nationals arrested in Sabroom

The operation was carried out jointly by the Tripura Police and the BSF.
In a big breathrough, the Tripura Police have arrested 14 Bangladeshi nationals from Sabroom in South Tripura district bordering Bangladesh.
Acting on specific inputs, a joint team of Tripura Police and BSF personnel of the 96 Battalion apprehended the Bangladeshi nationals when they were taking shelter at the residence of a local individual identified as Kraisu Mog in the Baishnabpur area.
Preliminary investigation suggests that they crossed the border through the Baishnabpur area on Saturday and took shelter at the house of some locals. They had entered India to travel to Karnataka.
The BSF and Sabrum police personnel rushed to the residence and after detaining the 14 Bangladeshi nationals including four female, equal number of male beside children and toddlers, and brought them to Sabroom police station.
Three middlemen involved in facilitating entry of Bangladeshi nationals illegaly into the Indian territory, identified as Kraisu Mog, Athubai Mog, and Khoka Tripura, residing in the Baishnabpur bordering area, have also been arrested.
The Bangladeshi nationals have been arrested only five days after NIA picked up 25 middlemen from Tripura who were part of an international gang engaged in facilitating entry of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis from across the border into Tripura.
