Tripura: CM Manik Saha Meets Governor-Designate Jishnu Dev Varma

Jishnu Dev Varma, a senior Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) leader, was previously the Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha met with former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, who has been appointed as the Governor of Telangana, on Monday.
According to officials, the meeting was held at Dev Varma’s residence.
During the meeting, Manik Saha expressed his pride and joy in Dev Varma’s remarkable achievement, noting that he is the first person from Tripura to ascend to the prestigious position of Governor in any state.
Chief Minister Saha extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes for the new journey that lies ahead.
Chief Minister Saha also conveyed his confidence that Dev Varma’s experience and dedication would serve as inspiration and bring positive changes in his new role.
Earlier this week, Manik Saha congratulated the former Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura, Jishnu Dev Varma, on his appointment as the Governor of Telangana.
In a post on X, Manik Saha said, “I would like to extend my wholehearted congratulations to the former Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura, Shri Jishnu Dev Varma Ji, on his appointment as the Governor of Telangana.”
“My heartfelt thanks to the Hon’ble President of India, Droupadi Murmu Ji, and the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Narendra Modi Ji, for this esteemed decision,” read the post.
Jishnu Dev Varma, a senior Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) leader, was previously the Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura.
On July 28, President Droupadi Murmu appointed new governors in nine states. The President has appointed former Rajya Sabha MP Om Prakash Mathur as Governor of Sikkim. Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Assam, has been appointed Governor of Punjab and Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh.
Additionally, Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde has been appointed Governor of Rajasthan, Jishnu Dev Varma as Governor of Telangana, Om Prakash Mathur of Sikkim, and Santosh Kumar Gangwar of Jharkhand.
The President has appointed Ramen Deka as Governor of Chhattisgarh and CH Vijayashankar as Governor of Meghalaya.
C.P. Radhakrishnan, Governor of Jharkhand with Additional Charge of Telangana, has been appointed as Governor of Maharashtra.
Lakshman Prasad Acharya, Governor of Sikkim, was appointed as Governor of Assam and has also been given additional charge as the Governor of Manipur.
