Tripura: Body of drowned man recovered from Khowai river

Dipak Das had gone for a bath but had drowned in the water of river Khowai last evening

The body of a person who went missing after he went for a bath in Khowai river in Tripura has been recovered.

The deceased identified as Dipak Das had gone missing last evening. The body of the deceased was recovered from the Chakmaghat barrage area under Teliamura subdivision of Khowai district.

Das, who had gone for a bath but had drowned in the water of river Khowai last evening since then the NDRF team had launched a search operation but despite hard effort could not trace him as the water in the barrage area is quite deep.

As per inputs, atleast a dozen persons have drowned and died during the past few years in that area which has recently been made into a tourist spot with boating facility.
