Tripura BJP President Rajib Bhattacharjee Sworn-in as Rajya Sabha Member from State

Bhattacharjee thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving him the opportunity to serve Tripura as Rajya Sabha MP.
Tripura’s BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee today took oath as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha.
Bhattacharjee was administered the oath of office by Vice-President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar in presence of BJP National president and Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha, JP Nadda.
In his social media address after the swearing-in ceremony, Rajib Bhattacharjee expressed his commitment to working for the people of Tripura, emphasizing his dedication to the vision of a developed Tripura as part of a developed India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Bhattacharjee also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving him the opportunity to serve Tripura as Rajya Sabha MP.
Bhattacharjee was elected to the Upper House on September 03, 2024, after winning the lone Rajya Sabha seat in the state in the by-election held that day.
He won the seat with 47 votes defeating CPI-M candidate and former MLA Sudhan Das.
The lone Rajya Sabha seat in Tripura fell vacant after former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb quit following his election to the Lok Sabha from the Tripura West parliamentary seat prompting by-elections.
Earlier, after the victory, Bhattacharjee said, “Our victory is a message to the people of Tripura about our alliance. We BJP-IPFT-Tipra Motha will work for the development of Tripura.”
He stated that now that he is a member of the Rajya Sabha, he would bring up concerns pertaining to Tripura’s development in the parliament.
