Tripura: BJP Organises Membership-Drive Workshop In Agartala

First Published: 28th August, 2024 18:13 IST

Tripura BJP President Rajib Bhattacharjee informed that PM Modi will officially launch the nationwide membership drive on September 1

Aiming to make Tripura the state with the highest number of BJP members in the northeast, the saffron party organised a membership-drive workshop in Agartala today as a precursor to its upcoming major membership drive.

Tripura BJP President Rajib Bhattacharjee, speaking to the media at the Muktadhara Auditorium, informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially launch the nationwide membership drive on September 1.

“In the previous membership drive, the BJP in Tripura enrolled around 6.5 lakh members. This time, the party aims to surpass that figure and set a new record for the highest number of members in the region,” Bhattacharjee said.

He added that to achieve this goal, the party has initiated training programmes for its top leaders, who will further train and create awareness at the grassroots level to ensure the drive’s success.

Today’s event was attended by Chief Minister Manik Saha, BJP National General Secretary Dushyant Gautam, and other senior leaders from across the state.

It may be mentioned here that the election for a new BJP chief will be held in January 2025.

In the run-up to the election, the BJP will launch its membership drive and renewal campaign for existing members through missed calls to dedicated numbers, WhatsApp, the NaMo App, QR codes, or traditional forms.

The membership drive will be held in phases from September 2 to November 10.

The BJP typically renews its members’ memberships every six years; however, this process was interrupted by the Covid pandemic.

Reportedly, the saffron party’s membership renewal drive will be kicked off by party chief JP Nadda, who will renew the membership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
