A BJP party office was ransacked and valuable furniture and documents were burnt to ashes by some unknown miscreants at Mandwai market in West Tripura district on Sunday after a scuffle broke out between the supporters of ruling BJP and Pradyot Kishore Debbarma-led Tipra Motha.
As per inputs, the clash erupted at Mandwai market where BJP had reportedly organized a joining programme . The skirmish started shortly after Tripura People’s Front leader Patal joined BJP and said that Motha’s core objective of creating a Greater Tipraland was a “small dream”.
BJP Janajati Morcha leader and Mandal president of Mandwai, Abhijit Debbarma alleged that supporters of TIPRA Motha not only attacked BJP supporters but also set ablaze furniture and documents of the BJP office at Mandwai market area. The BJP leader has demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
Meanwhile, a case is being registered with the local police station and the matter is being investigated. As per reports, nobody was injured during the clash.
