PM Modi inaugurates, lays foundation stone of projects worth over Rs 4,350 crores in Tripura

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated, dedicated and laid the foundation stone of various key initiatives worth over Rs 4,350 crores.

The Prime Minister also launched the “Grih Pravesh” programme for more than two lakh beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban and Rural schemes. The beneficiaries were handed over the documents for their houses constructed at a cost of Rs 3400 crores.

Addressing the gathering in Agartala, the Prime Minister congratulated Tripura on getting a new dental college today. He said that youths in the state who desire to become dentists can now get dental education in the state without having to travel elsewhere.

He also congratulated the people of Tripura for their vital role in keeping the state clean and for making Swachhta a mass movement due to which the state has been adjudged as the most clean state in the country as per Swacch Sarvekshan Survey 2022 in the category of Small States.

PM Modi said, “Tripura and the North East were only discussed twice before the formation of the double engine government. First, when elections were held, and second, when there was a violent incident! Today, Tripura is being discussed for its cleanliness and infrastructure development.The the double engine government is working in double speed.”

The Prime Minister also lashed out at the previous government and said that earlier poor’s rightful ration was looted, and the double engine government is now delivering its share of ration to every poor.

He said that state’s small farmers and entrepreneurs will benefit from the efforts of the state’s dual-engine government. Attempts are being made to globalise the locals here.

Speaking about the development in Northeast, PM Modi said, “In the last 8 years, many National highways have been constructed in the North East sector. Many rural areas are also linked by roads. Our dual-engine government is focused on improving physical, digital, and social infrastructure.”

“With the construction of the International terminal at Maharaja Bir Bikram Singh airport in Agartala has improved connectivity to domestic as well as international destinations. This has helped Tripura in emerging as the logistics hub of North East,” he added.

“Earlier, Adivasi society, tribal area has been kept away from development. BJP has changed the politics and have given importance to issues related to the tribal communities and this is the reason why today BJP is the first choice of adivasi community,”

PM Modi said that in the coming days, youths of the state will get more opportunities and new source of earning.
