PM Modi in Tripura on Dec 18; to kick off BJP’s poll campaign

PM Modi is likely to address a public gathering at Swami Vivekananda ground in Agartala and is expected to lay foundation stones for a few projects.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to blow the poll bugle and kick start BJP’s campaign for the upcoming polls in Tripura during his visit to the state on December 18.

PM Modi is scheduled to address a public gathering at Swami Vivekananda ground in Agartala, lay foundation stones of a few projects and also launch some development schemes in the poll-bound state. He would also be interacting with the BJP leadership and party MLAs in Agartala.

PM Modi will be flying in from Shillong, Meghalaya where he would be attending the golden jubilee celebrations of the North Eastern Council (NEC) and also chair a meeting of the Chief Ministers of Northeast, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha speaking to the media in Agartala.

Earlier in the day, CM Saha along with Chief Secretary JK Sinha, DGP Amitabh Ranjan and other senior officials visited the MBB airport in Agartala to inspect the preparedness before PM Modi’s visit to the state.

Elections for the 60-member Tripura Assembly is scheduled to be held early next year. The tenure of the present Assembly would end on March 22, 2023.
