Just over 2 months into 2023, Mizoram has already reported 19 deaths due to drug abuse.
Now looking at the statistics, law enforcement officials are apprehensive that drug-related deaths this year may exceed those of last year, which saw 43 drug-related deaths.
An official of the Mizoram Excise and Narcotics Department said that the deaths of 19 people due to drug abuse in the first two months is alarming, and at this rate, the state may possibly witness the highest number of drug-related deaths in recent times
