Sarkar also a launched a scathing attack on the BJP government blaming it for 'abnormal' price hike of essentials.
Former Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar today urged the voters in the Tripura East Lok Sabha constituency to vote for such a political force which can alleviate the problems of every sections of the society.
Addressing a rally in support of Tripura East CPI-M candidate Rajendra Reang, backed by the Congress, the CPI-M veteran said, “If this government cannot be ousted, than how will there be a country, when people cannot survive. What is the difference between people and the country?”
According to Manik Sarkar this has prompted the Opposition to join hands.
“27-28 political parties have come together and spending a long time on the basis of experience, have realized that it is time to get united (formation of I.N.D.I. Alliance). Our slogan is to remove this government and form an alternative, democratic, secular force who tries to understand the political situation and other problems, which feels for everyone and tries to alleviate their problems,” Manik Sarkar said.
Sarkar also a launched a scathing attack on the BJP government blaming it for ‘abnormal’ price hike of essentials.
“The price of essentials in the past 10 years of BJP regime has only increased daily. The ability (of the commoners) to purchase has gone beyond the ability. There are needs but they do not have money. The sole reason is that there is no employment. And hence they are unable to purchase the essentials they require, because there is no money.”
“Our fight, our intention, our thinking, is to alleviate the problems faced by crores of Indians. To intensify the fight further I appeal to vote for our candidate and send him to Delhi, ” Manik Sarkar added.
Not only this, the former Tripura CM also took at dig at the BJP for failing to take up core issues in their manifesto.
“The manifesto which the BJP released on April 17, I listened to the full speech of PM Modi after he released it, but there is no mention about resolving the problems faced by the youths, the way I am speaking about price rise; the BJP has not made a single mention about addressing the issue in its manifesto. Not even mention was about the MSP for the farmers of our nation,” Sarkar further stated.
