BJP national president J P Nadda will arrive in Agartala on June 16 and address a rally at Santirbazar under South Tripura district on June 17, said Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Monday.
Nadda’s rally is being organised as part of the countrywide campaign of the BJP to celebrate nine years of the NDA government under PM Modi at the Centre and will mark the beginning of the party’s campaign for the Lok Sabha elections next year.
Dr Saha told reporters in Agartala before before leaving for New Delhi to attend a meeting on National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA). CM Saha also holds the disaster management portfolio.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will chair the meeting with ministers of Disaster Management of the States and Union Territories on Tuesday in New Delhi. The day-long meeting will also be attended by Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla along with senior officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
When asked if he is going to raise the issue of delay of declaration of name and visit of interlocutor to Tripura the Chief Minister said, “It is not possible, the meeting is only for disaster management. So there is no scope for asking or discussion on interlocutor.” The CM added that along with the Union Home Minister he also has an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
